The Association's website is in transition - again!
The registration of the domain 'raffca.co.uk', which has been used by the Association for a few years, has been transferred to us in the last fortnight and joins the recently-acquired domain 'raffca.org.uk'. For some weeks now, the main pages at 'raffca.co.uk' have been redirected to this domain, which is the only one at present being kept up to date; however, the ultimate aim is for the same content to be used irrespective of the address used by the viewer.
The Message Board has now been transferred entirely to this domain and is available once again to use. It is hoped that any future updates of information on the 2 sites will be transparent to the user, but only time will tell!
Happy browsing! If you wish to make any comments, please use either of the contact links in the menu on the left; please also use the menu to reach other pages on this site.

Message Board Upgrade
The YaBB2.1 Message Board system has been upgraded to YaBB2.2, a change that brings with it a slightly different appearance but much more opportunity to improve the security; some of you may already have noticed the 'different' messages that have cropped up in the last couple of days! There may still be some teething problems, so please report any errors you find to webmaster AT raffca.co.uk. Thanks

Message Board Password Retrieval
The new Message Board system password resetting function now works correctly. If you forget your password click on the appropriate link and enter your registered e-mail address. The system will then give you a link to a new page where you will be issued a temporary complex password. Make sure you write it down as you need it to change the password via the Profile button. Sorting out this e-mail faff also means that you will now receive an advisory e-mail anytime somebody sends you a Private Message on the Forum.

New message board facility
The new message boards are more powerful and more feature rich than the previous incarnation and, even better, it's free! In order to control access to the Members' Forum, I need to register members individually and, to do this, I need a valid e-mail address. The address will not be directly viewable by others accessing the board, unless the member chooses intentionally to make it visible. If you currently have a username and password for the old members area this will remain valid for the new message board (but I still need you to give me a valid e-mail to use).

New website layout implemented, with improved message board facility
Having had a few spare weeks between Open University courses I have given the site a bit of a spring clean. The new message board is open to all, but members have their own private forum, which will now also host information about forthcoming events and allows members to contact each other privately. The Branch Information section is meant to act as a first port of call for those potentially joining the Branch, so that they have some idea of what they are letting themselves in for; to that end if members have updated (unclassified) information please pass it on!
