	I am very sad to report that Flt Lt (Retd) Simon 'Bean' Broadway died suddenly this morning. Whilst not appropriate to be discussing the circumstances so soon after the news, I am glad to say that he went out in some style - which he would have absolutely loved! I am in contact with his partner Jenny and Bean's family and will pass on the details of the funeral when I have them. Rest in Peace Bean - you are much loved and will be sadly missed.

	Nicky I didn't know Bean at all well, only having chatted with him for a short while when we were all up at Cosford for the Spring Reunion a couple of years ago. It is, indeed, tragic news that he should have died so prematurely. RIP

	Sometimes sadness and disbelief hit too hard for one to react sensible. Suffice to say a colleague and true friend who will be sorely missed by myself and all his friends. A caustic wit, with a generous heart. It is at these times that you wish your meetings had been more often and for so much longer. RIP Simon, I will always remember our times in the Yorkshire Wolds, Plez

	So shocked and saddened to hear the news. Bean was a good friend and I echo Plez's comment that we didn't get together often enough. I have many happy (& funny) memories which will always remain with me. RIP Bean old mate, I shall certainly miss you. I'll raise a glass or 2 tonight. Pete.

	Simon's funeral will be held on Friday 21st February at 1400: St Peter's Church Over Wallop Stockbridge Hampshire SO20 8HT http://www.thewallops.net/OWallop/Church/Church.htm Family happy for people to attend in uniform if they would like to. Family also happy for people to send flowers or to send a donation. Flowers/donations to the undertakers Richard Steel Partners in Winchester http://www.richardsteelandpartners.co.uk/ Donations will go to the British Heart Foundation.
